Collecting and dropping off waste
We collect most waste from your home according to the waste calendar. Anything that doesn't fit can be taken to the recycling point, donated to Restore or collected from your home.
This information and these rules apply to
Waste collection
We collect most waste from you. How this works depends on the wheelie bin that belongs to your home — one of the two situations below applies to you.
What applies to you?
Restore Charity Shop
Does it still work, or is it still good enough for someone else? Furniture, household goods and electrical appliances are given a second life at Restore Charity Shop. You can drop them off yourself, and we collect large items from you for free.
We collect large items for free
Make an appointment; you can drop off smaller items at the shop yourself.
It must be intact and still working
Is it broken or dirty? Then the recycling point is the right place.
Recycling point
Anything that is no longer usable can be taken to a recycling point yourself. You sort it there by type, so that as much as possible goes back into the recycling chain. Opening hours and what you are allowed to bring vary per municipality.
Bring your ACV card
You cannot access the site without a card; your card belongs to your address.
Sort by type at home beforehand
On site you drive past the containers, so delivering sorted waste saves you a trip.
Arrange waste collection
Does it not fit in your wheelie bin and can't you take it away yourself? Then we will collect it from your home by appointment. Costs and how far in advance you need to plan vary per municipality.
By appointment
We do not visit without prior arrangement; you choose a day yourself from the available dates.
Only put it out on the street the evening before
Leaving items on the street for days attracts fly-tipping.
Christmas trees and leaf waste
Twice a year we run a collection round that does not happen the rest of the year. In November and December there are leaf cages in streets with many trees, and in the first weeks of January we collect Christmas trees. When we visit your street is listed in the waste calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions. Is your question not listed? Then please feel free to contact us.
That is stated in the waste calendar: it is different for every address, even within the same street. Enter your postcode and house number to see which bin needs to go out and when. Around public holidays, a collection round is sometimes delayed by a day; this will be indicated.
Via "Request container" above. You can also choose a different size there or return a container if you have one too many. Is your wheelie bin broken or stolen, use "Submit report" — and we will come and repair or replace it.
Small waste can be taken to the communal containers nearby, and anything larger to the recycling point. Does it still work and is it intact? Then Restore Charity Shop is the better route: it gets a second owner there instead of a second life as raw material.
If you put it out on the street before 07:00 and the rest of the street was emptied, report it the same day or the day after — and we will return. If the vehicle had not arrived yet, it may still come later in the day. Is there a tag attached to the wheelie bin? That will explain what the issue was.
